Welcome to this edition of the Pyro Fire Newsletter! It’s quite hard to believe we’re already heading into June, where does the time go?
An update from Erik Hudson, our Managing Director:
In the last few months we’ve been busy at events, particularly the Procurement Act Expo at the NEC in March, where we met up with housing associations, local authorities and councils, and had some brilliant conversations around fire safety and how the landscape for procurement is changing with the introduction of The Procurement Act 2023.
Not only that, but earlier in May we had The Fire Safety Event, also at the NEC, where hundreds of fire industry professionals showcased their businesses and thousands attended over the 3 days. It was truly incredible to attend the event and see the awareness of fire safety continuing to grow.
Big news – we’re moving offices! Doncaster Business Innovation Centre has been our home since Pyro started in 2011. However, we’ve found a new home that will be better equipped for staff, our visiting clients, and training delegates. As of May 2024 we’ll be registered at our new address:
1 Water Vole Way, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN4 5JP
Please update your records if you haven’t already done so, and we hope you can pay us a visit at our new offices in the near future.

To start with, we’ve launched:
A fire safety logbook is a crucial source of information and facility for keeping records of tests, checks, maintenance, drills, and training for your premises.
Fire door information for residents
In line with The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, landlords and property managers are now legally required to provide residents in blocks of flats with a notice relating to fire doors.
Fire action notice (for buildings with Manual Call Points)
It is a legal requirement to provide fire safety information to relevant persons, this is best displayed in key areas throughout the building. Generally, this notice is displayed adjacent to manual call points at final and storey exits.
Did you know we also offer digital fire logbooks, for you to manage fire safety totally online. Never lose track of a task again – find out more here.
Our partners at Tio, who provide our clients with Digital Fire Logbooks, have also created some brand-new free of charge on-demand online courses to help you and your staff with testing and recording checks for fire alarms, emergency lighting and extinguishers.
