Doing a Fire Door Awareness course on its own will not give you competence to become a qualified fire door inspector, however, it’s a 6 hour accredited CPD training course which gives a detailed introduction to fire safety requirements, and fire doors in detail – it will add to your CPD record and give you the perfect foundation to move closer to competence as a fire door inspector.
If you’re looking to become a competent fire door inspector, your next step after this Fire Door Awareness course would be to look at some form of diploma or certification for fire door inspector status – check out FDIS as an example. These courses do cost more, but are more onerous and hold weight as competence schemes as you’re required to pass exams.
