Welcome to the 2nd Edition of the Pyro Fire Newsletter!
An update from Erik Hudson, our Managing Director:
We have big plans for 2024, continuing to grow our team to support the increasing demand on our services. We remain 100% committed to helping you, our clients, adapt to the ever-changing fire safety landscape.
To assist with this, I am delighted to welcome on board our new Technical Manager, Richard Franks, who joined us in January to bolster the technical support we offer. As an ex-RAF Firefighter, Richard brings with him a wealth of experience as a fire risk assessor, fire door surveyor, and inspector of passive fire protection.
Erik started 2024 in the United Arab Emirates, attending the Intersec Expo, which is the world’s leading safety exhibition comprising over 1200+ exhibitors showing off the latest products and innovations in our industry. It was a privilege to be there and bump into industry experts from the UK and around the world.
We also attended the Housing Link North West conference at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester in early February.
It was interesting to hear from numerous speakers and panel discussions, particularly around sustainability, net zero and retrofit for housing.
Erik got to chat to the Minister for Housing, Lee Rowley MP about fire risk assessments, which was important due to the impending British Standard for FRAs in Housing.
If you’re going, please let us know. We’d love to see you there – we’ll be on stand 3.
